TONES of GREY | PERTH STREET SCENES

It’s one thing possessing and being able to use pro gear but this comes at the price of carrying around some pretty heavy kit; literally it’s a real pain in the back! Excluding the Manfrotto tripod with its attached heavy geared-head, my f-Stop backpack containing a Nikon D800 camera, 3 – 4 essential lenses together with miscellaneous accessories weighs in an at least 12 Kgs, ouch! With an upcoming trip to Arras and Paris planned for April, I really couldn’t face the prospect of lugging around a big DSLR and equally heavy lenses on holiday; and so, after extensive research and the recommendation of respected fellow photographers, I decided to invest in the Fuji mirror-less camera system. My holiday kit now comprises the excellent Fuji X-T1 body together with four fast, prime Fuji lenses covering focal lengths 14mm – 56mm (equal to 21mm – 84mm on a full size camera sensor) and having a total weight of only 3.5 Kgs. Here are a few favourite images captured using the new lightweight gear when I ventured onto the streets of Perth.
