THE TURRET BURN

Perthshire never ceases to amaze me and I am forever finding pockets of the county to photograph; in this instance by the side of a quiet tributary of the River Earn. The Turret Burn flows from high ground to the west of Crieff before eventually joining its larger brother the River Earn from which the ancient Scottish Earldom of Strathearn gets its name. I was particularly interested in capturing the lead-in line of stones directing the eye to the rippling stream beyond. Of the two, I find the second image more appealing and controlling the bright highlight in the upper section of the picture was easily resolved with the use of a neutral density graduated filter.
